Hi, I'm Joyce. I co-founded StartupX and formerly led BLOCK71 Indonesia (Jakarta, Bandung & Yogyakarta) as their Programme Head.

This space serves to document my work in the startup ecosystem, and interesting people, communities and happenings that I've had the honour and pleasure to be a part of. This page is a work in progress as I come back during my spare time to record my thoughts on startups & entrepreneurship, the innovation landscape in Asia and reflections on life & society.

Amazing people & stories

I've been fortunate to share the stage, host, collaborate and work with some amazing folks from around the world.

A couple of sessions where I've spoken, hosted, moderated, mentored or judged at. Supporting these community events are a great way for me to continue to support and grow the startup ecosystem. I've spoken on early-stage startups, sustainability, SEA and female funding in SEA.

About Joyce Tay

I kickstarted a few startups (some did decent, some failed), built one of Asia's largest startup community, was part of our national broadcaster's first venture builder, launched a digital venture for a financial institution, and developed and ran a number of pre-accelerators and accelerators in the sustainability, arts and impact space across Southeast Asia. My ventures in the last decade show that Asia needs a better innovation model, and I'm on a mission to build it.

In 2018, Durwin, Raymond and I launched StartupX following a decade growing one of the largest startup communities in Asia. Our focus is to drive impactful innovation on a global scale, focusing on sustainability and civic innovation while championing diversity and inclusivity.
